5G Technology: Boon for Various Applications

The 5G technology has been acting as a boon for various applications, such as 5G smartphones, IoT & M2M devices, and connected vehicles. The key hardware requirement for these 5G applications is 5G supporting antenna systems. The advanced antenna systems (AAS) enable the concept of remote radio head (RRH) by integrating the antenna and meeting 5G challenges of enhanced capacities by using localized beams and space diversity via massive multiple-input multiple-output (mMIMO) technology. These mMIMO antennas are used in 5G base stations, connected vehicles, IoT devices, and smartphones. Various unicorn companies of the 5G ecosystem are working on conducting research and development for 5G-enabled antennas for catering to the growing demand for 5G infrastructure across the globe. Some of the key market players are Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Nokia Corporation, and Ericsson. These companies' dominance differs from region to region, depending on their collaborative contracts with countries’ telecom operators. Some of the active telecom operators successfully achieving 5G infrastructure in the countries are Verizon, Vodafone, China Telecom, China Unicom, LG U+, AT&T, and KDDI.

Analyzing the Growth and Expansion of the Neurostimulation Devices Market

The global healthcare economic burden, at present, is primarily characterized by major contributors such as chronic pain and neurological disorders. The annual societal cost for chronic pain and neurological disorders accounted for $635 billion and $789 billion respectively in the U.S., in 2014. Opioids are one of the most preferred medicines for the treatment of chronic pain, however, the side-effects associated with opioids have resulted in a decline in their overall usage and sale. Consequently, the increasing cases of neurological disorders and the need for a novel approach for the treatment of such diseases has led to the advent of neuromodulation technologies. The rapid shift of the healthcare industry toward neurostimulation devices from opioids and other conventional treatment techniques can be attributed to the efficient, safe, and targeted approach of neurostimulation devices. BIS Research recently published a market intelligence report titled “ Global Neurostim...
